Waltz With Bashir is an almost entirely animated film that plays out upon the backdrop of the 1982 Lebanon War. Ari Folman (himself), an Israeli documentary maker, realises in 2002 that he has no recollection of his particular involvement in the war as a young Israeli soldier 20 years ago. By travelling to relevant locations and interviewing friends and aquaintences from the war he pieces together his involvement in the war, culminating in the rediscovery and acceptance of his own personal culpability in a massacre.
