In Waiting For Guffman, the citizens of Blaine, MO get together to put on a show commemorating their town’s 150th anniversary. The ragtag bunch of actors is led by formerly (in)famous director Corky St Clair (Christopher Guest) and features the talents of a Dairy Queen employee (Parker Posey), a dentist (Eugene Levy) and community theater power couple Ron and Sheila Albertson (Fred Willard and Catherine O’Hara). Under-talented and under-funded, the cast weathers a series of disasters to get to opening night. Added to the excitement is the rumor that New York City theater critic Mort Guffman will be coming to see their show—will it hit the big time, or get stuck in the small town it celebrates?
