A father (J.K. Simmons) is trying to connect with his two sons but interference by a young woman gets between them and that connection. Caleb Sinclaire (Adam Scott) picks up his brother Peter (Alex Scott) at college for the Thanksgiving holiday back home. Peter brings along his new girlfriend Emma (Brittany Snow). Caleb recently broke up with his long-time girlfriend and is really tired of relationships. He tells Peter that Emma will only hurt him in the end. Secretly, Caleb is drawn to Emma and his feelings start to grow stronger. Will Caleb act on his feeling or is blood really thicker water? Perhaps Caleb will honor his brother and protect his love for Emma.
